Canterbury Christ Church University’s Broadstairs Campus will be hosting a visionary lecture on the Dreamland Margate project on Thursday 3 March.
Jonathan Bryant, Project Director at the Dreamland Trust, will give the audience an insight into the past and the future of what is expected to be a unique and quintessentially British visitor attraction for Margate.
Jonathan, who has a wealth of experience in the heritage and leisure sectors, as well as in business leadership, will discuss the major role Dreamland will play in the regeneration of Margate.
By illustrating the project’s historical perspective, including its recent and less fortunate past, the lecture will reveal how far the project has been developed and how much work remains to be done before the park becomes fully operational in 2013.
Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Government’s Sea Change programme and Thanet District Council, The Dreamland Trust is working to create the world’s first amusement park to feature thrilling historic rides, classic sideshows, vintage cafes, retro restaurants, special events, performance and creative interpretation set within landscaped gardens and picnic area.
The lecture starts at 6pm and is open to the public. It will take place at the Broadstairs Campus, Northwood Road, Broadstairs, CT10 2WA.
